Our partner that helped bring this collaboration to life is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. They have been a partner with ABLE for over 8 years and are a vital part of our business. Women owned and operated, they value the impact each order brings to each employee. Most of their employees are women overcoming past hardships and are now able to support themselves and their families. Many of the women are coming from women's shelters, internally displaced (IDP) camps, returnees, and from vulnerable communities. Our partner started their business by providing a job opportunity to one woman and has now reached their value chain to more than 100 women. Training in the leather industry has given them the opportunity to advance their work and career paths and being able to start from interns to being promoted to managers in the company.
